Invite-Only Retreat

Signal, Marketers Retreat

Location: Tulum, MexicoYear: 2024Audience: Senior marketers and ecosystem leaders
Tulum, Mexico

The challenge

A group of senior marketing leads across Web3 needed a space to think, not perform. Conference week schedules left no room for real conversation, and most retreats built for founders did not translate to marketing leadership.

The strategy

We designed Signal as a relationship-first retreat. Guest curation mattered more than headcount. Every meal, every session, and every unstructured hour was built around trust and depth rather than content output.

The experience

Mornings opened with unstructured time, not an agenda. Working sessions were built around real problems attendees brought with them, not a pre-set curriculum. Meals were long on purpose, because that is where most of the real conversation happened.

The outcome

  • A tight, senior guest list with near-perfect attendance through the full retreat
  • Multiple cross-company partnerships initiated during the retreat
  • Repeat requests to run Signal again the following cycle

Why it worked

Intimacy was the strategy. By keeping the group small and the schedule loose, Signal created the kind of trust that a 300-person conference side event can never produce.

Signal: Long meals, loose mornings, small guest list. Trust built at the pace of an actual conversation.
