A 10-floor immersive art experience in the heart of Tokyo, built by Nox Gallery — Japan's first physical NFT gallery — with Superchief Gallery and Brillia. Ten floors, ten stories, 60+ international artists, and a full side-event programme running alongside. Guava production-managed the experience end to end.
Art Golden Gai took its name and its shape from Tokyo itself. Golden Gai — the warren of tiny bars in Shinjuku, each one its own world behind its own door — became the organising idea for a building.
Ten floors. Ten stories. Each floor a tribute to a different Japanese subculture, running from the neon glow of cyberpunk to the quiet of traditional village life. Visitors didn't walk a gallery loop; they moved through a portal, floor by floor, and the experience changed completely each time the doors opened.
The collaboration behind it was the point. Nox Gallery, Japan's first physical NFT gallery, and Superchief Gallery, the world's first NFT gallery, brought digital-native work into a physical building in a city with one of the deepest art traditions anywhere. Brillia joined as a partner on the build.
Ten floors open twelve hours a day for twenty-two consecutive days is not an exhibition. It's an operation. Guava held production management across the run.
Most art activations are built for a launch night. Art Golden Gai had to hold quality from noon to ten, every day, for three weeks, across ten distinct environments with different technical needs. The production plan was written for day fourteen, not day one.
60+ artists across Japan, the US, and Europe, working in everything from physical installation to generative and screen-based work. Each floor's install, technical requirements, and handover had to land without a single floor holding up the ones above or below it.
The side-event calendar ran inside the live exhibition rather than around it — Hack Golden Gai with Mantle and 7007, NFT Japan, Ordinals Tokyo, Trio Takeover, and additional sessions across the run. Every one had to slot into a building that stayed open to the public.
Beyond logistics, Guava hosted events across the programme — running the room, managing the flow between sessions, and holding the experience quality that the concept promised.
